Why Chiropractic is important for Children

Madison Chiropractic

mp900422793Here we are in the age of enlightenment with the internet, global communication, massive technology changes and apparently a new way of health and well-being, pharmaceuticals. We are medicating absolutely everything, our children, our parents, ourselves and our loved ones. 25% of American children are on some medication for a chronic problem and 7% of them are on two or more medications for further chronic conditions. When we medicate 50% of the children, will that make them healthier physically, mentally and emotionally? If we have a problem, does it make sense to throw a pill at it, pray, and keep our heads down and it maybe it will go away. There has to be better example for our children, a voice of reason that promotes healthy lifestyle dealing with core principles for nutrition, exercise, humility and well-being. How many medications, vaccines and doctors visits and prescriptions does it take to be healthy?

Chiropractic care is part of this healthy family lifestyle and is an ally to all parents who are disgruntled with the model of medicate, wait, change medications, wait, change medications again…. There is a better way for you and your children. Parents are partially responsible for their children’s health, parents set the example for many of the daily choices that children make such as what to eat? how to bathe? what health is? what love is? how to exercise? When we understand that our children will follow our footsteps, both the good and the bad footsteps, we should make better decisions with our own physical, mental and emotional well-being. How can your child live a healthy lifestyle if you do not teach them? If they copied you and your actions, your thoughts, would they be healthy in 10 years, 20 years, 50 years?

Regular chiropractic care is vital for correct development of the spine, extremities, and nervous system in babies and children. It is critical for children to be checked soon after birth for subluxation and then for regular check-ups as they develop. This will help reduce they likelyhood of SIDS, colic, constipation, poor sleep, poor development, and irritability.

As children develop, we take them to their medical doctor, their dentist and to their chiropractor to get a professional opinion on correct development and function. The use of other remedies and professionals who have a natural slant such as naturopaths, acupuncturists, chiropractors and other healers prefer to work with the child’s natural healing abilities rather than medicating the symptoms and missing the cause of the problem.
