From the Doctor

As a parent, I know this feeling well, and I experience the feeling with every parent who brings their child in to see me. We want to have healthy and happy children who live to their full potential.  

The ability to create healthy relationships with family, friends, teachers and classmates is vital for self-esteem for both a mentally and emotionally balanced child.

This past month I attended a workshop as part of my continuing education where I learned of a study that 99% of healthy babies have spinal dysfunction after birth.  

Some of my greatest joys are watching kids transform after a few adjustments.  The parents are happier, the child is happier… it’s beautiful.

Should my child see a chiropractor?

Is your child reaching their Potential in the classroom?
A.  Are their grades reflective of their abilities?  Does their teacher think they can do better?
B.  Are they forming good relationships with their classmates?
C.  Are they forming good relationships with their teachers and school administrators?
D.  Are they anxious regularly?

Is your child reaching their Potential in the gym or on the field?
A.  Do they enjoy being physically active?
B.  Do they complain of aches and pains?
C.  How is their hand-eye coordination? Foot-eye coordination?
D.  Are they playing well with others?

If your child is not reaching their potential, what CAN you do about it?
1.  Change their environment.
2.  Change their nutrition.
3.  Adjust their body to reduce spinal dysfunction so they move better and feel better.

healthyKingston Chili

  • 3 cans diced tomatoes
  • 3 cans pinto beans/black beans or mix
  • 1 lb. of ground beef
  • 2 green peppers, deseeded and diced
  • 1 cup frozen corn
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 lb. button mushrooms, diced
  • 2 T paprika
  • 1 T smoked paprika
  • 2 T cumin
  • 2 T garlic powder
  • 2 T Celtic Sea Salt
  • 1 T black pepper
  1. Mix spices together in a small bowl.
  2. Heat skillet and sprinkle meat with 1/4 of bowl of mixed seasonings.
  3. Cook ground beef until brown, drain fat.  Add meat to chili pot.
  4. Turn heat to low, and add tomatoes (with juice) to meat.
  5. Drain beans and add to pot.
  6. Reheat skillet and cook green peppers and onions (5 min).
  7. Add cooked green peppers and onions to chili pot.
  8. Add remainder of spices to chili pot
  9. Add mushrooms and corn to chili pot.
  10. Mix, bring to a boil, and reduce heat to simmer for 2 hours.  Stir every 30 minutes.
  11. Serve with diced jalapenos, cheese, and sour cream.
